FREE CANADIAN LAYERED MANDALA CUT FILE

Oh Canada! It’s been years since I visited as a child. Someday, I’d like to return.

After publishing an American flag design and the US states, we heard loud and clear in our fun Facebook group from the Canadians would like a layered design to represent their country too. For this project, I’ve saved the Layered Maple Leaf separately from the Oh Canada! I saved the Oh Canada! words a bit differently than my usual designs. I would normally weld all the words in one piece. This time each word was welded separately. This way you can move the words to fit your project piece.

The Layered Maple Leaf Mandala has five layers. I think projects would look beautiful with just a few of the layers. Or maybe skip every other layer. If you’re looking for directions on how I assembled the Maple Leaf mandala project above, please refer to my layered mandala post, which includes a video.

MATERIALS TO MAKE 3D LAYERED MAPLE LEAF

  • 65 lb Cardstock – I used Recollections Brand Cardstock.
  • Foam tabs – These foam tabs from Tombow are my absolute favorite. They’re thick enough to provide a good dimension to each project. The description is a bit deceiving as it states 50 tabs. In fact, there are 464 in the package, 50 large and 414 small sizes.
  • Light grip mat (blue light grip)
  • Cricut Maker – or your favorite cutting machine.
  • Design #71 – Layered Maple Leaf and Oh, Canada SVG – My free cut file (available in my freebie vault—get the password at the bottom of this post).

  1. Thank you so much for doing something for Canada. I am unfortunately not able to use it as it says I am not authorized. Did I download it wrong?

    1. Good morning Heather,
Most often when I hear someone has a message like that, the download folder has not been unzipped. I’d check that first. After that, I’d need a bit more detail to troubleshoot.

      Gjoa

  5. Hello!
I have a Silhouette Cameo. I’ve downloaded and unzipped this file, however in SVG format – it won’t open in my silhouette design app. Is there a way to get it in PNG format or Studio file for Silhouette? Help?

    Thanks so much!

    1. Hi Angela
If I were to save the layered designs in PNG format, you would not get the detail needed as they all stack upon each other. If you use Designer Edition (or higher) of Silhouette Studio, you’ll be able to upload SVG formatted files to your Studio.

      1. This is the nicest maple leaf mandala that I have seen so far. Sadly it’s telling me the file is not available. Is there any way to get this?

        1. Hi Nancy,
I just updated that one the other day and must have broken something. I believe I’ve corrected the issue now if you’d like to try again. You may need to clear your cache so your computer refreshes. Let me know if you have troubles.

          1. I love this mandala as well, and am so excited to try it! I tried to download the file today, but sadly I am getting an error 404 code. Hoping it can be fixed!

  7. This still won’t open…. I clicked download and it looks like it downloads a zip file but when you try to open/unzip it – it still says 404 not found. Any help with this you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

    1. Thank you for helping me figure out the issue. I’ve updated the post and got it all sorted out for others with your help. ❤️
