3D LAYERED MANDALA STATE CUT FILES

Sharing my latest 3D layered mandala designs today – all 50 United States. These mandalas have been a labor of love after receiving multiple requests in my Facebook Group. Use these to create shadow boxes or other home decor for your favorite state. I’d love to see how the designs are used, feel free to post photos in our group, or send me message via email. ❤️

I don’t mind if you use these designs for personal or small business commercial use up to 200 items, but please do not re-sell or re-distribute the files. I’d ask that you direct your crafty friends here to download the files themselves.  Also, I don’t allow my designs to be used in print-on-demand shops or on transfers that will be sold. Click HERE for complete Terms of Service.

Most of the state mandalas have five layers. Due to size, there are a handful of them that are four layers. Feel free to play around and possibly leave some of the layers out of your creation. I think projects would look beautiful with just a few of the layers. Or maybe skip every other layer. If you’re looking for directions on how I assembled the Texas mandala project above, please refer to my layered mandala post, which includes a video.

MATERIALS TO MAKE 3D LAYERED STATES

  • 65 lb Cardstock – I used Recollections Brand Cardstock.
  • Foam tabs – These foam tabs from Tombow are my absolute favorite. They’re thick enough to provide a good dimension to each project. The description is a bit deceiving as it states 50 tabs. In fact, there are 464 in the package, 50 large and 414 small size.
  • Light grip mat (blue light grip)
  • Cricut Maker – or your favorite cutting machine.
  • Design #70 – Layered State Mandalas – Free SVG cut file (available in my freebie vault—get the password at the bottom of this post).

  2. I don’t know how you do these or where you find the time, but I can’t thank you enough for your generosity.

  3. Would it be possible to have the Canadian provinces and territories? Thanks.
    BTW your items are BEAUTIFUL!

  4. When I go to upload it to design space it uploads in a hundred different little pieces instead of the 4 or 5 layers. How can I fix this?

    1. Laur’en,

Would you mind double checking that you’ve uploaded the SVG format? It sounds as if you may have uploaded the DXF formatted file.

      Gjoa

  5. I Iove all your designs!!! Would you be able to do the provinces of Canada in the layered Mandela’s??

  6. Thank You! Your designs are beautiful! I can’t wait for Cricut to fix the problem so I can download it. You are much appreciated Gjoa.

  7. I’m a Lifestyle Director for a retirement community – I’m hoping that many residents will be excited to learn how to do this with me! Thank you for providing free content – you help me do my job better on a small budget!

  8. love the state mandalas however for my state Iowa it has 2 solid layers and looks like they are the same size so now i only have 3 layers-the more the better!!!perhaps you could check into this. thanks

    1. Hi Marcia,
On the Iowa version the bottom two layers are solid without holes in the middle. The bottom layer is a bit larger than the 3rd layer. You could even leave one of them off. I hope this helps answer your question. I’m an Iowa girl born and raised myself, so now that I have it up and double checked it, I’m going to cut my own.
      Thank you!

      1. Hi Gjoa,
I finally got around to making a shadow box using the California and Oklahoma state mandalas you designed for a loved one that just moved from CA to OK. I wanted to share a photo with you of the project, if you’re interested. How should I go about doing that? Thank you a million times for all of your gorgeous designs and generosity.

        1. Hi Sara, I’d love to see your photo.
You can email it to me if you’d like gjoa at specialheartstudio dot com or if you’re a Facebook user, feel free to share on my FB page or message me.

    1. Hello,
The States are not proportionate in size. That would have been nearly impossible to accomplish due to mat size of the cutting machines.

  9. Thank you! These files are beautiful. I can’t wait to make some gifts using these states. I’ll post and tag you on Instagram:)

  10. I love your layered designs. They are beautifully done, and they are fun to work with. It is wonderful that you give them away. I tell everyone I know about them. I am on a really tight budget right now, so it’s nice to be able to add free designs to my library. I do not sell any of the things I make. Everything I make is given as a gift, given to charity, or made for myself. I always give the original artist credit for the design. Thank you again!

  11. I saw some shadow boxes done with 2 different states with a ribbon connecting the two with a saying, but I can’t find it. Do you know where I could find it?

    thanks.

    1. I’ve seen a couple projects made by others similar. I think they may have added the saying themselves. It’s not a design I’ve created. Sorry!

  12. I am looking at all of these files and they are so cool!!! Thank you so much for these! I can’t wait to give some as gifts!

  13. When I put the file into the Cameo Studio it’s just one piece with all the Mandala cuts and the rest are just varying sizes of the chosen state in solid form. How do I fix this?

    1. Hi there. I highly recommend using the SVG format file version. It will then upload with the layers all intact.
