Layered Geometric Heart cut from cardstock in shades of red and pink.

Valentine’s Day is coming and I was asked to create a version of my Floral Layered Heart design without the flowers. I thought it would be a great addition to my layered design collection and perfect for those wanting to make a layered project without flowers possibly for a more masculine touch.

I don’t mind if you use these designs for personal or small business commercial use up to 200 items, but please do not re-sell or re-distribute the files. I’d ask that you direct your crafty friends here to download the files themselves.  Also, I don’t allow my designs to be used in print-on-demand shops or on transfers that will be sold. Click HERE for complete Terms of Service.

In addition to the Layered Geometric Heart, I’ve modified a previously designed Easel Stand to accommodate the heart. The original easel stand didn’t work because of the point of the heart, so this one will rest up higher. I also added a crossbar to keep the stand from opening.

  • 65lb. or 80lb Cardstock– For the two hearts pictured above, I used Cricut’s Cardstock Sampler in Red Tones. I cut both hearts on 6 sheets of cardstock. How many pieces of card stock will depend on the size of the heart you’re cutting.
  • Kraft Board – The Easel Stand was cut from Cricut Kraft Board. Any heavy cardstock would also work.
  • Foam tabs
  • Spray adhesive glue
  • Light grip mat (blue)
  • Cricut Maker – or your favorite cutting machine
  • Design #117 – Layered Geometric Heart and Easel Stand SVG – My free SVG cut file (available in my freebie vault—get the password at the bottom of this post).

Because the top layer is so thin, I use Elmers Craft Bond Spray Glue to attach the layer. It’s best to place the top layer in a box (to contain overspray), lightly spray the top and then place it on the second layer.

All layers below the top layer were attached using Foam Tabs to provide dimension. I cut the hearts pictured at 7″ tall. The Easel stands were cut as they upload at 8.391″x 6.238″.

Once you’ve assembled the heart, it looks great propped up on the Easel stand. It can also be used in a shadowbox, on a card, and many other ways.

The Easel Stand file has been saved in two formats. One with a score line already attached and ready to go for the fold and the other with a perforated cut line so that a scoring stylus or scoring wheel is not needed. I’ve labeled the file names as shown below for easy identification in the download folder.

  5. File #49 is not the floral layered heart. The geometric hart doesn’t have the floral heart. The floral alphabet doesn’t have the heart. Where is the file for the floral layered heart?

    1. Hi Tracy,
I responded to the other comment too. Design #49 IS my Layered Floral Heart and #117 is the Layered Geometric Heart.
