LAYERED HOUSE FLORAL MANDALA

Home Sweet Home.
The latest in my layered mandala style designs is a house. This design comes as as shown in the photo above with a solid house and also a heart cut out. I’ve included the Home Sweet Home wording in the design, but you could easily replace that with other sentiments or even family names to make a perfect gift or card.
I don’t mind if you use these designs for personal or small business commercial use up to 200 items, but please do not re-sell or re-distribute the files. I’d ask that you direct your crafty friends here to download the files themselves. Also, I don’t allow my designs to be used in print-on-demand shops or on transfers that will be sold. HOW TO MAKE THE LAYERED HOUSE MANDALA
MATERIALS NEEDED FOR STACKED SQUARE ILLUSION SHADOW BOX
- 65 lb Cardstock – I used Recollections Brand Cardstock from Michaels.
- Micro-Foam Tabs – These micro-foam tabs are perfect for the thin lines on the top layer of the cat.
- Foam tabs – These foam tabs from Tombow are my absolute favorite. They’re thick enough to provide a good dimension to each project.
- Light grip mat (blue light grip)
- Cricut Pens or Foil Tip – for drawing the wording in the middle of the heart.
- Cricut Maker – or your favorite cutting machine.
- Design #98 – Layered House Floral Mandala –The free SVG cut files (available in my freebie vault—get the password at the bottom of this post).
After you’ve downloaded and unzipped the SVG file, upload either the plain house or the heart house to Cricut Design Space. I will outline directions below how to work with the heart house using a Cricut Pen or the new Foil Tips.
New to Design Space and looking for help with how to upload? Click HERE to find directions to get started.
Once you’ve uploaded and sized the design to your project, click Ungroup.
Find the layer with writing, click the layer to select it.
Change the linetype to your desired setting. For the photos, I used a black Cricut Pen – select Draw. This project is also perfect for the new Cricut Foil.
After changing the linetype, go back to the right side panel.
We now need to let your machine know which layer the drawing or foil should be drawn on. To do that, first, select the draw (or foil) and also select the layer where it will be drawn. Click attach. Tip: To select multiple layers, press shift, and click.
Once attached, the layer with the drawing moved to the top. It doesn’t matter the order of layers on the screen, but I do like to move them back in order. You can do that by using the arrange function > send to back while the layer is still selected.
Now that your drawing or foil is attached, you’re ready to “Make It”!
If you’d like to delete (or hide) the wording and write your own in the same font, I used Dear Agatha font for the Home Sweet Home.
The floral house has four layers and the heart house has five layers. Order of layers is shown for each from left to right.
To assemble each layer as shown in the photos, I used Tombow Foam Tabs between the bottom layers and Forever In Time Micro Pop-Dot Adhesives for the top intricate layer.

I love your SVG designs, thank you so much for sharing these. I am looking to download Design #98 – Layered House Floral Mandala, but can’t find it in your library. I have searched inside the Freebie Vault too but nothing comes up with that name. I am using the correct password, please can you help? 🙂
Hi Georgia, If you scroll down to the #98, it’s the first link directly following the number.
I have followed all the information you have given to find the svg cut file for the Layered House Floral Mandala. I see the directions to make the design once I have the svg cut file, but I cannot find a link to download/upload the file. The only thing I can find is how to make it once I have the file. Can you please help me. I am unable to find the file using the directions you have to Georgia. I cannot find a link. Thank you for your assistance.

Hi Gjoa,
Is the house in the photo all white layers except the layer with the writing?
Yes. That’s exactly how I cut that one.
