FREE LAYERED PAW PRINT MANDALA CUT FILE
Animal lovers consider their pets to be part of the family. I’m sure that’s why I’ve received multiple requests for this layered paw print mandala. I’ve decided I’ll frame this one and hang it over our hooks for the dog leashes.
We don’t mind if you use these designs for personal or small business commercial use up to 200 items, but please do not re-sell or re-distribute the files. We ask that you direct your crafty friends here to download the files themselves. Also, we don’t allow our designs to be used in print on demand shops or on transfers that will be sold. Please refer to our TOU for full details.
MATERIAL LIST AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR LAYERED PAW PRINT
- 65lb. Cardstock – I prefer the Recollections brand
- Foam Tabs – These are my favorite. I’ve found they provide more depth between the layers.
- Light Grip Mat (blue)
- Cricut Maker – or cutting machine of your choice
- Design #61 – Layered Paw Print – The free SVG cut file (available in my freebie vault—get the password at the bottom of this post).
This design has five layers. I recommend starting on the bottom layer to assemble your paw print. The top layers have separate pieces, so starting with the bottom will keep everything aligned in the right spot. If you’re looking for directions on how I assembled the layered paw print mandala, please refer to my layered mandala post, which includes a video.

This is lovely! I am going to put it in a frame for a friend that lost her dog, and I will mat a photo of appropriate size to place in the center of it. Thank you so much for inspiring the perfect project for this occasion! Hugs!

lOVE THIS SHARED AND PINNED
wonderful, many thanks
Could anyone post their end result if they used different colours?? My furbaby is a girl and would like to do pinks and purples.
I am having trouble. I upload the layered house, but in design space it won’t separate the layers to cut it. I’m lost. Sorry
Hi Stacey,
Most times when there are no layers, I find that the wrong file type is being accidentally uploaded. Please make sure the SVG format is used and it will have the layers.
This is my first try! Bear with me. haha! How do you get the svg to detach or make different layers using your svg design? I am lost, cause when I upload on Cricut it looks like all layers are only one image or print together. 🙁
Thanks so much for your help and answer!
Hi Rosa, In Design Space, off to the right there should be a panel where you can see all the different layers.
Same thing with me…it’s only in DS as a one layer
Hi Elaine,
Double-check that you’ve uploaded the SVG format version of the design. That is the file version that has layers.
I did…I keep getting just the black svg
I think you’ve you’re getting a solid black design you have accidentally uploaded the DXF file format that is meant for Silhouette basic users. Cricut users won’t need that file type and you may delete it.
I did it! Don’t know how but..
Yay!
