3D Layered Mandala style alphabet from Special Heart Studio

A few weeks ago I created my first layered mandala design after seeing all the beautiful creations that people were posting in different Facebook craft groups. With all the “extra” time that I was spending at home, I thought it would be fun to make one myself. I did and now I’m hooked. As soon as I made that first one, I had it in my head that I wanted to do them in letters. So many hours longer then I thought it would take, I’ve finally created my mandala alphabet set. I pray these bring you joy and something to do while stuck at home. I personally plan to make one for my daughter’s bedroom. I’d love to see what you do with these designs. Post a photo in my Facebook group and let me know. ❤️

I don’t mind if you use these designs for personal or small business commercial use up to 200 items, but please do not re-sell or re-distribute the files. I’d ask that you direct your crafty friends here to download the files themselves.  Also, I don’t allow my designs to be used in print-on-demand shops or on transfers that will be sold. 3D layered mandala letter C with floral elements in shades of pink cardstock
Mandala C put together with spacers.

Each of the SVG/DXF letter files has six layers. Feel free to play around and possibly leave some of the layers out of your creation. I think projects would look beautiful with just a few of the layers. Or maybe skip every other layer.

Click the photo box below if you’d like to join my FREE SVG Group. In the group, we have both Cricut and Silhouette crafters that are happy to help if you’re stuck on a project and have questions. We’d love to see your creations and I post FREE designs and fonts from trusted, reliable sources.

Brightly colored cardstock with letter G cut in a 3D floral mandala style pattern
No spacers were used on the G. Each layer was glued with a school glue stick.

  • 65 lb Cardstock – On the pink C in the photos, I used Recollections Brand Cardstock Pink Buttons multipack along with Recollections Shimmer White
  • Foam tabs
  • Spray Glue – The top layer is very thin, so using a spray glue to adhere works best.
  • Brayer – This handheld tool is key to correctly getting the paper on the mat to reduce paper ripping while cutting.
  • Light grip mat (blue light grip)
  • Cricut Maker – or your favorite cutting machine.
  • Design #44 – Floral Layered Alphabet Mandala AND Layered Punctuation – My free SVG/DXF cut files (available in my freebie vault —get the password at the bottom of this post).

  34. Hi Gjoa. It’s me again. I thought I downloaded the Mandala Alphabet file and when I went it o try it there was nothing there. I went to the site, put in the password you provided and everything comes up except the Floral Alphabet. Has it been taken down or how can I get it again?

    Thanks

    1. Hi Emma,
The Mandala Alphabet set download is now in my “Freebie Vault” that is password protected. I just double checked and it’s still there. Let me know if you still having trouble finding it. The alphabet is listed as download #44.

  35. Just want to say thank you for sharing so many wonderful files! I know u work so hard at making them and takes a long time to make them. So thank you!!! And I was also wondering how I can’t make the alphabet mandalas like u did but with hibiscus flowers? That’s my favorite flower and would love to have some alphabet mandala with it but I have tried over and over and nothing seems to look right so just want to see if u had any input on how to make them with hibiscus flowers?

  36. I just discovered your channel…I am a newbie to cricut. Thank you so much for sharing the svg file. I couldn’t wait and made one for my daughter. I would love for you to see it. Can I send it to you.

  37. I fell in love with this project the minute I saw it. I made one for my daughter for Christmas. I am a complete newbie and you made this so easy. I am trying to find a font to use similar to the one you put on the glass of your Shadowbox with E for Ellie. I have been searching around and feeling overwhelmed. Would you be able to guide me to this font or make a suggestion.

    1. The Ellie on the glass was done in Limon Script Bold. It’s a higher-priced font, but does usually go on sale in November. There’s really nothing similar to it that I’m aware of. So happy you found my website. ❤️

  38. This is such an amazing set and i cant wait to start making lots of wonderful projects with it , but i cant for the life of me figure out how to download the file, Please help?

    1. Hi Sarah,
I keep all of my free downloads in my Freebie Vault. To obtain the password, you can enter your name and email address on the form on this page. You’ll instantly receive the password on screen and via email. Once in the vault, scroll down to #44, then click the link directly following the 44, (it’s the file name) and will automatically download.

  39. I did not receive the email I was suppose to get that had the password in it to receive the free alphabet I filled out a few times thinking it was me I checked my junk folder too.

    1. Hi Lindsey,
I will send you a manual email right now. Hopefully, that will come through your email provider. You may want to check your spam or promotions folder too.

  40. I love these and wish to have them. I watched you on the Makers Fest. You guys are so crafty and I can not wait to join in and have some fun.

  41. I just got the email about this Mandala alphabet, etc, file, but I can’t find it anywhere. I’ve spent the last 15 minutes going around in circles. Has it been taken down? Do I have to watch all the videos to get the files? They are beautiful, and I’m new to Cricut and looking for something to start with, that’s a little cheaper than vinyl. I already have some cardstock. Need to get the spacers.

    Thanks!
    Linda in TX

    1. I am having the same problem. I found the link # 44, but when I click on it, it just sends me back to the top of the page. I don’t find a “Download” button anywhere 🙁

      1. Hi Amilyn

It’s not a button, it’s just a hyperlink. Click the link directly following the design number in the freebie vault and the file will download automatically. There are example instructions at the top of the freebie vault page.
Let me know if you have troubles.

  42. I love your designs. I have made several and plan to do even more. On this design, you show in a frame with the name in
cursive. Can you tell me what font you used and if it is on the inside or outside of the glass?

    1. Hi Dale,
That script is one of my favorites. It’s called Limon Script (Bold version). I have it on the outside of the frame as the vinyl is a sparkle/glitter adhesive that was only on one side.

    1. Hi Margaret,
All of my free downloads are kept in a library for my email subscribers that I call my Freebie Vault. You can request the password (and receive it instantly) to access all of the free downloads here: You may request the Freebie Vault password and receive it instantly on this page of my site:

    1. Hello Christy,
Sometimes the message go to spam or promotion folders. If you don’t find it, let me know and I can manually send it.

  43. I was so excited to find these mandala’s, but I’m having a really hard time finding the actual link to the Alpha Mandala letters. I do see the lower case link, and the other ones, but not the one for the upper case letters. Am I overlooking things here, or is it hidden in a secret spot? I hope to receive an answer soon, last minute Christmas gift 🙂

  44. I’m having problems with finding the layered alpha mandala set. I subscibed and went to the freebie vault, but I can’t seem to find the link to download the file. The post says the password is at the end of the post, but i didn’t see anything.
    I need assistance, please.

    Thank you,
    Rose

    1. Hi Rose,
All of my free downloads are kept in a library which I call my Freebie Vault. Once you’ve entered the password there are directions at the top of the screen, but the short story is — click the link directly following the design number. So these letters are design #44, click the link right after the 44.
If you don’t yet have the password, you may request and receive it instantly on this page of my site:

  45. I’m either blind, crazy or both but I’ve downloaded the set twice now and still can’t seem to see the letter S.
Sorry to be a nuisance but is there anyway I could get that letter please?

    1. This design is #44 in the Freebie Vault. Click the link right after the 44 and the file will download automaticaly.

  46. i can not find the password or figure out how to download the letters, please help

  47. Hi, i signed up and got the confirmation email but no password. can you please let me know where i can find this.

    thank you

  48. Hello Gjoa,

I just got access to the freebie vault. I am too excited.

I would want to make a YouTube video of making a shadow box with your letter mandala design, can I use it? I will give credit to you and put the link in the description box. Kindly advise.

    Thanks a lot,
    Melanie

    1. Hi there!
All of my free downloads are kept in a library for my email subscribers which I call my freebie vault. You can sign up on every page. Then once in the freebie vault, scroll down to #44 for these letters and click the first link. The includes the entire alphabet and will automatically download when you click the link.

  49. Thank you so much for sharing your hard work.
Can I just check that we can use these to sell within a small business?

    Thanks

    1. Hi there. It’s a link. Click the link directly following #44 in the Freebie Vault and the files will automatically download.

  50. I have subscribed now about 4 times and still yet to receive an email with password for the vault?

    1. Hi there! You may want to check your spam folder, unfortunately sometimes that’s where the first email ends up. Let me know if you don’t find it. We’ll get it sorted out.

  51. I’m totally new to crafting with a cricut maker. I have always loved the mandala styles. yours are absolutely beautiful.

      1. This is awesome and I’m looking forward to making a few of these but where is the password?

  52. I cannot figure out how to download the #44 SVG. These instructions are not clear to me. The instructions just keep going in circles. Can you help me? please?

    1. Hi Sandra,
Once you’ve entered the password to the vault, scroll down to design #44 and click the first link following the number. The file will automatically download when you click the link (it’s the file name). There’s a quick instruction video at the top of the vault that will explain the process both on desktop and phone.

  53. Thank you so much for your video. I am brand new to the Cricut, and really love the alphabet mandalas I have seen other people make. They looked so hard, but your video showed how easy they really are. I’m anxious to make some for my granddaughters.

    1. You’re welcome. They can look a bit complicated, but you’re right, they’re not! Yet they look incredible.
Let me know if you have any quesitons.

  54. wondering if you can help I’ve been trying for over 6 hours to access your free 3d alphabet mandala #44 and every time I download it I get nothing showing up

    1. Good afternoon,
I’m happy to help troubleshoot. Could you tell me what happens? I just need a bit more detail to help troubleshoot. Are you on a computer? If yes, Windows or Mac? On a mobile device? What operating system?

  55. Hi, I love your mandala letters and have tried to use them in various occasions, however, after I unzzip the file and open the unzipped letter to DS, it comes out as one letter with no separate layers. What do I have to do to see all the layers? TIA

    1. Hello. In order to see all of the layers, the SVG format will need to be uploaded to cutting machine software. On screen, it will appear it’s a fiat file without software that can “read” layers.

  56. Hello Gjoa,
Thanks again for sharing your wonderful designs. I am making one of the letter mandalas to put in a shadowbox frame and was wondering if I could put the vinyl name on the inside of the glass instead of the outside? I’ve never tried this and don’t know if it would look wrong or not. Do you have any thoughts? Thanks again.

    1. Hi Kelci,
For the ones that I’ve framed with the name on the glass, I placed it on the outside. Only because, all 3 that I’ve made this way, I used a glitter vinyl (you can’t really tell in the photos) the vinyl was silver on the back side, and not the white glitter that was the front. Either way really works as long as the adhesive side of the vinyl looks the same as the front.

  57. I am going around in circles. I am trying to download the file to no avail. I have received the password but do not know where to access the file. I am very sad.

  58. Thank You so much for sharing your TALENT…BEAUTIFUL CREATIONS! YOU HAVE GENEROUS HEART.

  59. Ok I feel my mother in law has asked the impossible.
Does anyone know where I can find a 3d, layered or mandala of the word
    Friend?

  60. Hello, thank you very much for the model I also made it with another color I’m happy with myself it’s a gift for my granddaughter
